A first conversation about recovery should clarify a problem, not collect the maximum amount of sensitive material. Before anyone transfers source archives, private URLs, credentials, or client-identifying information, both sides need to understand the purpose and boundaries of the work.

Our public inquiry routes are designed around a non-confidential starting point. That is not reluctance to investigate deeply. It is a way to make sure a deeper investigation has an appropriate scope and channel.

Describe the decision, not the secrets

A useful initial note can say that an authorized frontend needs maintenance, that the original build inputs are incomplete, and that one or two visible behaviors must remain intact. It can identify the type of deployment and the role of the technical owner without disclosing a customer’s name or a private endpoint.

This gives us enough information to discuss whether capture or recovery is the right first step. It also avoids creating an unnecessary copy of material we have not agreed to handle.

Authorization comes before acquisition

A publicly reachable page is not an invitation to recover it for any purpose. The operator needs appropriate rights and authorization for the proposed work. We do not position KodeBack as a way to clone a competitor, bypass access controls, or recreate a private service from what a browser happens to expose.

This article is an intake practice, not legal advice. The relevant rights and agreements need review by the people responsible for the project. A technical capability cannot substitute for that review.

Define the handoff before sending files

When a deeper evaluation makes sense, agree on the artifacts, permitted access, retention expectations, and success criteria before transfer. Also identify what should never enter the evaluation, such as production credentials or unrelated customer data.

A narrowly scoped first capture can often teach more than a broad, poorly described upload. The aim is to connect each artifact to a question that needs answering, not to assemble a collection whose authority and relevance must be reconstructed later.

Start through the Kalu Kode contact page with a short, non-confidential scenario. Describe what you are authorized to maintain and which decision you need help making. The quality of that first question matters more than the size of the attachment.
